Book Club
The books we read and discuss run the gamut, including biographies (Rachel Carson and Humboldt), essays on ecology, history, planting instruction, and fungi! We are fortunate that one of our regular members is a gardener and published expert on ecological issues.
Some of the books we have discussed in the past include:
-
The Nature of Oaks: the Rich Ecology of Our Most Essential Native Trees by Doug Tallamy
-
We Are the Ark: Returning Our Gardens to Their True Nature Through Acts of Restorative Kindness by Mary Reynolds
-
The Wild Trees by Richard Preston, and
-
Noah’s Garden: Restoring the Ecology of our own Back Yards by Sara Stein.
