-
Back in 1963, a small group living on Gary Road near Potomac Village decided to form a club dedicated to their gardening passion.
-
By 2010, they grew from a social group exchanging plants and landscaping ideas to one of the most active garden clubs in Montgomery County.
-
Members have included flower show judges, members of the Washington Area Landscaping Design Council, the Maryland Native Plant Society, the Montgomery County Master Gardeners, the Gardening Consultants Council, the President of the Azalea Society, a chairperson for the National Capital Area Garden Clubs, and the chair of the National Garden Club Convention in 2011 (held in the DC area).
-
PVGC members are an active, friendly, supportive group of 30-40 members
-
We follow values of mutual respect and inclusivity, diversity of thought and engagement, environmental stewardship, lifelong learning, and service to the community
-
Together PVGC members share our knowledge and the love of gardening with each other and the community
-
Our interests range from native plants and organic gardening to floral design
-
Members aspire to cultivate their gardens, themselves, and their environment
